The first step in moving into a new home involves planning for the proposed move. Planning for the move should be done prior to moving out of the old home and include many considerations such as when to move out of the old home, when to move into the new home, agency to use for moving and possible intermediary processes and challenges between moving out of the old home and moving into the new home. The major significance of planning is that it identifies possible challenges in the process and prepares an individual. Once planning has been done and the moving dates established, renovation of the new home follows. This is done according to the plan and needs to be completed well before the scheduled dates for moving. This stage ensures that possible problems in the new home such as required paintings and repair of broken pieces are fixed. All this can be done through renovation agencies or through direct contracting of renovating personnel. It is followed by, or may be concurrently done with packing of belongings in the old home.
